Change and decay, in all around I see

In between spells spent framing and cleaning, I took a stroll today through the grounds of the former Carrigmore House, Ballineen. On a cold but sunny Spring day, the place sadly just spoke of darkness.
It was built in 1842 by James Lysaght on the site of an earlier house known as Connorville -- home to the Connors of Manch, Ballineen, one time. It's still possible to imagine the grandeur that the house eschewed once. But no more. It was burnt in October 1920 during the War of Independence when it was the property of James H. Morton. The house is now derelict.
