Statue Wrest Park

We went to Wrest Park today Stately Home and Gardens, the gardens are quite extensive, and I would imagine look really beautiful later in the Spring, there are some love trees and I loved the stone walls and archways.
Wrest Park was the first country house to take in patients from the WW1 and opened in Sept 1914 as a hospital for patients, initially as a convalescent home for soldiers recuperating from there wounds, Lord Lucas had ownership at the time of the WW1. the De Gray family owned Wrest Park for 700 years.
During the WW11 the gardens were ploughed to grow produce.
We will have to go back and explore more, on a warmer day.
