Europa

We're staying in a hotel near the marina at Benalmadena; had a wander around there after we arrived yesterday and had a lovely meal at the marina this evening.
But we spent a few hours today walking along towards and around Torremolinos.

This is the Monument to Europa, in the Plaza de la Union Europea.

History (mythology) lesson -
Zeus assumed the guise of a white bull and Europa climbed on to his back. He then took her off across the ocean to Crete where he revealed his true identity and 'seduced her under the shade of banana trees'. After her death and in remembrance of his love for her, Zeus placed the shape of the bull in the sky as the constellation Taurus, and Europa gave her name to the continent.
