Sea, Sand, Sun, and Smitingen

Today we visited Smitingen, the island’s only sandy beach. The sea was ice-free and the beach nearly empty of snow but despite the sun it was fairly cold. What can you expect when the wind blows in over a sea unwarmed since last summer?
However, the brightness of the day was lovely when the sun broke through and made for optimism. The world will warm up as spring advances.
