Lonely Lilac

We live in the South. Lilacs do not grow here. The winters are too mild, but I grew up with Northern lilacs and love and miss them and their fantastic fragrance.  So The Resident Gardener  has done the miraculous and found a  special breed of lilac and stops by after work with ice in the fall to help them bloom. But it was a VERY warm winter, and here is our one heroic lilac. ( There may be a couple more.) It does have some scent.  I am enjoying this lonely lovely lilac.
