Surf

This part of the Yucatan coast of Mexico has a coral reef that is second only to Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

Indeed this reef protected the Mayans who lived here from European influence until the 1800's.

Local people speak Mayan first, Spanish second, English third.

The Mayans we have come to know are so pleasant to interact with.

Playing in the ocean today was fantastic.

The two part harmony of the ocean surf, a deep rumbling note from the waves breaking on the reef way out and the lighter shushing note from the waves breaking on the shore, is a very powerful sleeping potion to be sure!
