Lubeck

Today we visited Lubeck, going by train from Hamburg. The sun shone, and it was lovely and warm. We visited two marzipan emporiums, and toured around, visiting the cathedral and nearby Church of St Marien (I think).

It is a shame we go home tomorrow. We have really enjoyed ourselves. This picture is the famous gatehouse, the Holstentor - which everyone wanted to walk beneath and to take pictures, of course.

Lubeck is a lovely place - the equivalent to someone from Yorkshire would be visiting Harrogate. Slightly overpriced in places, very beautiful to walk round. Although Harrogate doesn't have a moat all the way round like Lubeck. Is it a moat? Or perhaps a river that seems to ring the town / city.
