Hidcote

Today we parked the car at Mickleton and walked up the Cotswold ridge and back via the NT gardens at Hidcote where we had lunch.

We were so glad that we hadn't driven direct to Hidcote as the car park was full and there was a queue of cars several hundred yards down the road waiting to get in.  We smugly walked in and had a nice lunch before walking round the gardens.

This view of the house is taken from above it as you descend from Lark Stoke,  the highest point in Warwickshire.

What isn't obvious from this picture is that Hidcote is on the edge of the escarpment with a steep descent beyond it.
