A Gem in the Rough

I continue to be amazed by the beautiful, unusual and often hidden details in nature.  I had no idea that the Double-crested Cormorant has a magnificent turquoise eye.  I usually see them at the C&O Canal drying their wings on the rocks.  This one swam close by before diving under and resurfacing yards away.
