Was It Really So Long Ago

Disgruntled

This Chiffchaff is looking dischuffed to say the least and who can blame him? Master H and I visited RSPB MInsmere today while the girls travelled to London to visit Madame Tussauds and for shopping. Meanwhile on the Suffolk coast, the weather was grey and the wind cold. But at the discovery centre, in the lea of the building, a bird ringing demonstration (see extra) was being held. Small bags, each containing a bird were hung on a wooden frame waiting to be weighed (by being plunged head first into a suitably sized plastic pot on top of the scales), wing measuring and other quite obtrusive measurements and inspections.

It's the first time I've seen this being done in the flesh, so it was great to get up close to some wildlife, although Master H seemed to have limited interest and preferred to play in the tunnels designed specifically for children close by.

We took a short drive along the coast to Southwold which apart from a good session at the play park behind the church, was largely rained off.

So it was home for us in time to collect the girls from the railway station. Now Master H is keen to travel on a train!
