Old and new

The new Wave Pictures LP and Joan Armatrading from the charity shop. JA's album sounds very Eighties. lots of synthesised sounds and multi-tracking. The WP LP was recorded in one day with one microphone. No mixing - just everyone in a room.
Which is old and which is new?

Busy day with M and A. Lots of bike painting going on. Ended up with lasagne cooked by C and The Talented Mr Ripley on DVD. I'd never seen it and it was pretty good. It had all the stars - Jude Law, Cate Blanchett and the guy from I'm Fucking Matt Damon. Can't remember his name.
