The Regent, Queen St, Brisbane

Much of Brisbane's most important shopping street is modern and not remarkable for its architecture. That's one reason why The Regent stands out. Opened in 1929 as a cinema, it finally became unused and derelict. These days, the parts that remain are heritage listed and have been restored to their full splendour and are used as a Tourist Information Centre.
