Kayak Caving

Over to Quail Island today, 5 of us, for our Wednesday morning paddle. Fabulous weather and sea conditions; so lucky!
There are a few caves on the northern side of the island, and because the swell was slight we were able to paddle in, and out, and roundabout. Fun!

I'm putting another image in Extras, which shows the wonderful basalt rock patterns in the cliff, reflections, a beautiful autumn day, and also, if you look carefully, a tiny kayak about halfway along, giving you a better perspective for the height of the cliffs.  Lyttelton Harbour actually is the remains of a caldera. With a history like that, is it any wonder we ended up with all those earthquakes!
