Along the Thames

Today started somewhere over the Atlantic at an unspecified time and place. Fitful sleeping after the evening meal and a nice drop of wine.

The flight seemed to go extremely quickly and before long the cabin lights were back on and an English breakfast served just in time for our descent into Heathrow. Good views over the west coast of Ireland, then cloudy until we circled over London waiting for our landing slot. I just love the way these big planes bank through the air, the pilots must love this part of the journey.

The final part of the flight path was over central London, good views of all the landmarks and of the river and a smooth touch down and short taxi to the stand.

Even the taxi ride home along the M25 was uneventful. On a roll we unpacked straightaway, had a bite to eat then went for a longish walk via the supermarket to pick up a few supplies before tomorrow's delivery.

Don't know how well we'll sleep tonight, should be good I hope.

Pleased that the whole trip went off smoothly, with no unforeseen incidents and good to be home and pick up the threads again. Thank you for all your interest in my journal and all your comments and stars etc. I can't promise such interesting reading in the coming days!
