Where the fairies danced

on the daisy petals leaving the tips pink.

My mum and I argue about this. She says the fairies paint the tips pink in the night with carmine. I say the petals turn pink if fairies have been dancing there. I think we both get our beliefs from Enid Blyton's books probably.

Poetry month: best fairies poem is "Faster than fairies" by Robert Louis Stevenson (but that's really about trains so...)

Kit Wright's poems for children are lovely. Especially the ones about Dave Dirt.

"Dave Dirt was on the 259
(Down Seven Sisters Road it goes)
And because he'd nothing else to do
He stuck his ticket up his nose..."
