Cherry blossom

A truly glorious spring day, warm and sunny. While Ben was at college I had three hours recording plants at Skillington, which has the most glorious Japanese cherry in the middle of the village. I stood under it and relished the busy hum of countless honey and solitary bees. The wall of a nearby stone barn had huge numbers of Hairy-footed Flower-bees and Red Mason-bees nesting in it - a rare sight these days.
