Fluffed up tui

Also known as the parson bird because of the white throat feathers. An endemic bird of NZ. Walking in Wellington today, beautiful day, but in the shadow against a bright sky. Still we don't see these in Christchurch, well I never have, so it's got to be blip for the day. Part of the honey eater family and one of the few native birds that continue to thrive.

Scientific name: Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae
