The Cat's Back

Found a wonderful new circular walk today from Clodock in the Monnow Valley. The church in the village is dedicated to St Clydawg. Given that in Welsh both y and w can be pronounced like an English o, this must account for the name Clodock.

From up on the hill to the east of the village there is this fabulous view over the village of Longtown and across to the spine of the Cat's Back. I first visited this area on a school trip way back when - Northamptonshire County Council owned (and still does, I think) an outdoor centre in Longtown, where we stayed.

The hill we were walking on is the one in the cloud in this blip and the valley to the left of the Cat's Back is the Olchon Valley which I also mentioned then.
