After so many cold dull and wet days with massive puddles around it was pleasant to walk along the shore towards Cramond without needing hats and waterproofs.  Some of the 7000 children affected by the closures of 17 of the Edinburgh’s schools due to massive PFI building problems ,  were enjoying their extra holiday playing and cycling along the promenade.  Dog walkers were playing on the sands and people were walking along the tidal causeway to Cramond Island at the low tide. The little island of Inchmickery looked like a battleship with Fife in the background.  People seemed happy to see the sun again but unfortunately sleet is forecast tomorrow.
