It's a Journey....

Landmark Center

The Landmark Center in St Paul, Minnesota was completed in 1902 and originally served as the US Post Office, Customs Office and Court House for the State of Minnesota.  In 1970 it was, thankfully, saved from destruction by a group of citizens.  The Landmark Center is now owned by Ramsey County and serves as an arts and cultural center.  While the outside is especially stunning, today I was inside the building because Carley's woodwind quintet played a lunchtime concert in what was originally a Court Room.  So on this beautiful spring day I was able to walk five blocks to this gorgeous building from my office and listen to Carley play a concert.  Wonderful!
The room was packed with people who came out for this free concert.  Apparently there is a free concert every Thursday over the noon hour.  Good to know!
The extra photos are of the quintet and the Court Room in which they played.  Don took these and I stole them off of facebook!
