Linnet Innit!

Saw this gorgeous male (cock) linnet down the beach today amongst a small flock.

We went in search of the peat beds of the Ancient Forest that's been uncovered by all the stormy weather this year. It looks amazing considering it's dated from between6073 - 5848 BC when what is now St Ouen’s beach was an area of freshwater marshland and fen that had been formed between the land and a coastal sand barrier.

The great tits continue to be busy with their nesting. Me and Rik have been watching the male call on the female and then chase after her. This evening he even came calling with what looked like a peanut. It's certainly more entertaining then any soap on TV! ;-)
