Channeling freespiral today. This afternoon's concert was at a large domaine in the Corbières, with a lovely garden. Another modern hall, but much better than yesterday's -- smaller, with a lower ceiling. We could actually hear the piano. Despite a couple of mistakes, the concert went so much better than yesterday that the general consensus was, "Yesterday's concert seemed not bad at the time, but actually it was awful!"

And it wasn't just the concert that was better. Proving once again the rule that it's the smallest villages that put on the best buffets, the small association which had booked the concert served a veritable feast of home-made canapés and other goodies. When I complimented Marie-B on the spread, she said "C'est normal !" "No it isn't," I replied (cold pizza and quiche being the general rule). "Well, it is for us."

One more concert to go, then it's over for another year.
