Trevi Fountain, Rome

The Trevi Fountain was not at all what I had expected. It is huge, very beautiful and extremely crowded. It was difficult to get a glimpse of the water without the view being obscured by a fellow sightseer. We did find a spot along the water's edge, to read about the statues and enjoy it's pure white splendour. Tranquil it definitely wasn't. But stunning... absolutely!

We also saw the Piazza Venezia, viewed Rome from the top of the Palazzo Venezia, spent a few moments of peace at the Piazza Quirinale inspecting the statues of Castor and Pollux, walked down the Spanish Steps (which are partially closed at present) and toured the inside of the Colosseum.
