It's that time again.

Last year I was mystified as to the name of this plant,which I now know to be Darmera peltata. The buds emerge from a sturdy root and open to reveal small pink flowers on a hairy stem. The leaves don't appear until much later and eventually become quite large and bright green which changes to red in the autumn. The root system seems to be spreading annually in the damp ground so I expect to have a good display this year.
