Amsel & Stuff

It's "die Amsel" for "the blackbird", which is odd because it's "der Vogel" for "the bird".  I really think you need to be born here to get every nuance of what article goes with which noun.  I regularly find myself thinking "Oh, now then..." but I'm usually wrong.

We had a chat last night about learning German and how it's really about the last 10% that makes you REALLY good.

I know I could have a chat with anyone here and we could understand each other.  Whether we could relate to each other is another question altogether.

I like the blackbird in this - he's not afraid of Moot (or the 2 massive Persian cats from next door).  He quite happily took-took-took-tooks at all of them as he does that weird scoot-bounce-not-flying thing behind them.

And we need to get out for the Cherry Blossom next weekend.
