RSD...

The morning was spent with the SBG at home, before heading over to Stockbridge for some coffee from Mr Eion, and then round to wrestle our way through the hipster beards hanging out on St Stephen's Street for the annual 'let's buy vinyl' day.

As well as folk playing on the steps beside Vox Box, there were shows happening at The Last Word, and the Antiquary - so we managed to get ourselves a table in the Antiquary to see Martin from De Rosa doing an acoustic set, which the SBG (well, 2/3rds of them) really enjoyed.  Their first gig!

Off for coffee and cake as energy levels were flagging, then returned to try and get into the Last Word, as we were keen to see Kathryn Joseph performing.  We made it as far as inside the door, then realised that there was no way we'd manage to drag the kids through to see her, so ended up sitting outside (in the sometimes sun, sometimes hail), listening to her.  We managed to get to the top of the steps outside, but after a few songs, the folk standing all around us were being so loud, and Kathryn doesn't play the loudest of songs, so we decided to call it a day as we could hear nothing.  One of the SBG in particular was distraught - she was in tears at having to leave before the end of the set.  I've been like that myself, leaving gigs early to catch the last train home.....

Then it was home, pizza making, pizza eating, and then I headed into town and along to Akvar for Jenny's (Leasko) leaving do.  Loads of lovely folk, and even a few blipper types.  A shared taxi home about midnight and bed, but not before Iain attempted to impress me with his piloting skills while flying his new mini drone.....I say flying - it spent more time crashing into the walls that actually in the air.  Perhaps the bedroom isn't the place for such aerobatics!
