Milton of Redcastle area this evening, and testing a Tokina lens at max aperture. Not good. Suspect some more serious (boring techie stuff) testing required, along with focus adjustment to camera. Lens is sharp over a fair area here, which at maximum aperture is great, but in the above shot it's the background that's sharply in focus, not the foreground that the autofocus was aimed at. Had previously found that the lens wouldn't successfully focus on distant subjects, which was what caused the initial concern.


Lots of cameras and stuff to Ffordes today, attempt to cut back on the gear, a bit... for a while. 

(Eventually found that the lens wasn't the problem. It was the secondhand camera. Which explained why there had been other problems prior to this. Subsequently replaced it.)
