Sgwarnog: In the Field

Warble

Full of the joys of Spring, one of the many Willow Warblers that have arrived in the last couple of weeks.

I walked out to Glovershaw and back: Lapwing, Curlew, Oystercatcher and Redshank were in the boggy pasture as expected. The Snipe were hiding. On the way back, a female Stonechat had found a good perch (see extras).

I checked the Green Hairstreak territory just in case, but the bilberry's not even if leaf yet, so it will probably be another couple of weeks at least. Still no Speckled Wood, Orange-tip or whites of any description for that matter, but there were quite a few Peacocks out today, the first in my local patch this year.
