Derelict Sunday - Gravesend Water Tower

After our coffee this morning, I headed down to The Shore on the side of the River Thames at Gravesend.  This area is very much industrialised, but much of it is derelict - or gives the impression of derelction; ideal for today's  Derelict Sunday.

This water tower supplied water to both the Bowater Thames Mill and also to Bowater Scotts and to this day still supplies the Scott site - now Kimberley Clarke. Apparently, the tower had a lift that took you to the 6th floor after that there was a spiral staircase that took you to the top floor then a vertical ladder that went through the middle of the concrete water tank at the top on the sides of the tank were illuminated Bowater signs.
