Heron rookery

Paddled on the Shenandoah this afternoon to see the bluebells. Several eagles and hawks were about. Tried to stay out from under the cormorants. The heron rookery was a fascinating place. Those are nests up in the top of the sycamores. If you enlarge the photo you can see a heron on one of the nests.
