Landscape in early morning sunshine

Frost in the valley bottom has not quite thawed.  At the end of the valley is Swanage, beyond which a thin wedge of the sea can just be discerned.

The nearby trees on top of the Purbeck Ridge have not been pruned to these shapes: the combination of winds coming up the valley from south-west and salt (which inhibits plant growth) have created this effect.
