Almond Pool East

Determined to get off my bum at lunch time so headed out of the office and west along the side of the Almond. 10 minutes into my walk and I came to this pond, Almond Pool East.

This pond is not naturally occurring but came a result of the shale mining industry in West Lothian during and immediately after WW2. More info at the following link;
