View from Knoydart to Skye

So on Friday we all piled into Frank's car and he drove us up to Mallaig to catch the ferry.

Knoydart is not very accessible. No-one ever built a road out there, you either take a boat or a two day hike. We chose the ferry.

I recommend to you the Torrie Shieling Bunkhouse. Not the cheapest, but plenty of hot water, very clean and a wood burning stove to sit around and chat.

We got up sharp enough and wandered up a Corbet in very mixed weather. The old adage of 'four seasons in one day' definitely applied. The views were stunning and we all agreed it was an excellent day out.

For an evening meal we opted for the Old Forge pub, it claims to be the UK's remotest pub. It has recently been taken over by a Belgian who has chosen to do things properly.  Venison burgers and Seafood platters were the order of the day.

The walk home was interesting since with only a half moon there was still l enough light for us to have shadows and walk home without head-torches.

I tell you I slept like a log.
