Little Langdale Day 1 - The Langdale Pikes

Aren't they striking!  When I arrived in Little Langdale in the Lakes I knew from the map where the club hut was, but wasn't sure that it could really be down that very steep lane with the sign saying 'Not suitable for cars'...  So I parked at the pub, went in to ask the landlord, and found other members of my mountaineering club enjoying pots of tea and pints of beer.  And yes the hut was down the lane.

That was Friday, and on Saturday we drove a way along Wrynose Pass and then walked across Cold Pike, Great Knott and the Crinkle Crags (with a nice bit of scrambling) and then up to the summit of Bow-Fell, before coming back by a slightly lower route.

The extra is of the Crinkle Crags with Bow-Fell to the right.

7.74 miles
4 hours 28 minutes
1606 ft ascent
