Day 16

An 11 hour flight from Singapore to Istanbul. I watched 'The Lady in the Van' by Alan Bennett. Brilliant film. Managed a bit of sleep.

Made an effort to keep moving in Istanbul airport. It has a huge terminal, but very little open seating. All the seats are at gates, and as a gate is opened up, passengers get woken up and moved on. Flights coming and going all night, the world on the move.

A Turkish Delight tasting. Came home with supplies.

Four hour onward flight to Edinburgh. I watched 'The Imitation Game' and 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'. Arrived to snow and a hailstorm. Dramatic change from 33C to 3C.

Not impressed with the unhelpful bus drivers parked at the wrong stances, when trying to get back to the Long Stay car park. Testing my patience after a 24 hour journey.

Safely home, jumpers on, heating turned up. What a wonderful 16 days we have had.
