Black-capped Chickadee

Last Friday Kathy and I  finally got around to putting up the birdhouse that our daughter Amy and I made together back in the summer of 1985.
This little birdhouse has been a feature at all of our houses since then.
Yesterday Kathy noticed a pair of Black-capped Chickadees checking out the birdhouse.
Today there is no doubt the Chickadees are tenants as they are in and out constantly and defended the birdhouse against a curious swallow attentions.
We believe it is the first time any birds have used it in all these years!
What fun.
