The Smugglers' Trail

Was out with the Third Wednesday Girls today, and we walked the Smugglers' Trail, from Dundonald Castle to Loans and then Troon in Ayrshire.  A lovely start at the castle of tea and scones, then a beautiful walk through deciduous woodland and past the fishermen fishing in the Collennan Reservoir and on to Fullarton House, built in 1745 and now a beautiful building turned into apartments. From there past Crosbie Kirk and graveyard and on to the Wrack Road passing the Royal Troon Golf Course and onto a disused railway track which took us to the railway station and the train back home.  By the time we got to the station we had walked for eight beautiful miles.

The weather was in a word..... glorious..... and as it appears that it will get cold again towards the weekend, we took full advantage of it.
