Paris:Manifestation

The activity in the plaza continues. Tonight along with groups drumming and groups talking and groups playing brass instruments there was the featured here strings. At least 90 of violin or viola and cello. The piece was a Dvorak and the playing was impressive given the circumstances.

Around the edges of the plaza were MANY police with shields masks and weapons just there in case I guess. And if anyone had wanted to - this direction it feel helpful except for aftermath. It is hardly clear to me just exactly the direction of all this but it is most certainly about liberte fraternite and eqalite. My French capacity is so poor darned it

The rest of the day (notes to self here) 12 miles of hoofing along Canal St Martin, Place des Voges, city historical museum, the Ile de St Louis and Cite where Notre Dame is and lots of narrow twisting more pedestrian streets lined with lovely old buildings, outdoor eating and coffee, dear shops (dear in more than one way) just as we picture Paris
