Spirals & Spots

Less alive in large.

I found this ladybird dead on its back on my desk... I put it on some kitchen paper (to wrap it up; why do they need wrapping up to throw out?), and was rather struck by the spots (and spots) and spirals. I photographed it as it lay, and got some close-up detail but then returned it to its back (as I found it) which gave the images a rather different "feel". I'm not sure what killed it, or why it was on my desk, but it only had five legs which may or may not have been involved (in both, or either).
