Horse chestnut leaves and flower

Today when I got to work, I found the car park closed because the big horse chestnut trees were being cut down. The tree in my first photo is outside the car park's wall, so may still be safe, but if the trees were diseased, as is being claimed by management, perhaps it will have to go also.
