Jake's cancer has recurred and there are no more treatment options in his best interests. Radical surgery (and I mean truly radical) would be risky, with a high chance of distant metastases.

He's the kindest, gentlest old doggy soul I've ever known. He is so much loved, so will have us to rely on every step of the way.

Conventional veterinary medicine has done its best for him, but there is nothing left to try. Trying a whole range of supplements and homeopathic medicines now. 

The sadness and worry is overwhelming, but right now this book reminds me that he is 'gloriously alive', is there to talk to, thank and treasure.
