Greenway House

Greenway's was the holiday home of Agatha Christie from 1938 when she bought it for 6000 pounds.  It later became the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

The National Trust was given the place in 2009 when they spent 5.4  million pounds on restoring the building and opening it to the public.

We went there today catching a 1930's bus from Brixham park+ride along the winding, very narrow country lanes following the course of the River Dart.

It was a great visit with the house containing all the original artifacts Agatha Christie and her husband had collected over the years. Including wonderful libraries of books as well as all Christie's first editions.

The gardens and grounds are also wonderful, leading down to the river and boathouse.

What was really good was that we could also take Dylan to the property, though not into the house.  Luckily Colin was with us to dog sit.
