Swan Power!

I was up early to get down to Trentham before it got too busy. And it was a shame to miss the beautiful weather.

I checked up on th grebe's nest, and was really pleased to see there were a few eggs. The reeds are growing up nicely around the nest, so it will become more and more hidden.

Along the lake this male swan was powering down the water to tell the younger swans who was boss!

The rest of the day was spent at Sandon Hall with a friend. There was a Spring food festival on and we got chance to have a look around the hall. It's a stately home still owned by it's orginal family, the Ryders, or Earls of Harrowby. So it's not open to the public all the time.
