MrT's #2 son Rob  is a real Dr Doolittle and apart from an animal menagerie at home he looks after and is the chief handler for  'Mike's Donkeys'.  We went to their field first thing this morning to feed and water not only the Donkeys but the sheep, pigs and ducks.   Rocky* , donkey on the right,  recently took part in an experiment, the brainchild of Emily Fairbairn, a journalist from the Sun Newspaper, about travelling to work in London in the rush hour - donkey -v- bus.
The Sun's headline read ......  'Get your ass over here! We test TfL theory that donkeys can go faster than buses in London - can Pedro hoof it from Sun girl’s home to office in less time than a double decker?'     (please Google 'Donkeytfl', I can't add the link but it's worth a look).

* The Sun write-up says it was Pedro who carried Emily through the streets of London but R actually used one of the larger Donkeys, Rocky.  R said Rocky undertook the challenge admirably, only spooking a few times at his reflection in the shop windows, trying to eat grass in a park and only having one woopsie along the way.    Emily who is a horse rider herself helped to put Rocky at his ease and he even went up in the lift to her office and delivered her right to her desk.  What an adventure for everyone.

The experiment proved that travelling by bus was actually quicker, but travelling to work by Donkey was more comfortable and far more relaxing and exciting!

Blue skies are back but there's been a keen easterly wind.  It's been a fun day with the grandsons, their parents and the animals.
