Gargoyle , Frankenberg Eder

For our way back home we decided not to take the highway for the first bit of our route. Instead we drove through the part of the country where my mother's family came from. Here we passed Frankenberg/Eder with a lot of historic buildings. And the gargoyle!
Unfortunately it was too cold for long walks so I took a few pics, then we "took refuge" in a nice café for a cappuccino and some cake.
Later we passed through the small village where I had spent some of my summer holidays. I could still recognise my great-grandparents ' house and barns. But as they no longer belong to our family I just had a wee look and drove on.
