Nehalem River....toward the Ocean

I walked out on a dock in Wheeler, Oregon to get this shot down river. The deck and boat launch on the far left of the photo is one of my dream locations. They have great views and a huge deck over the water, along with some kind of pulley system to raise and lower their boat into the water. The metal structures in the middle of the photo on the river are storage units for rent to store a boat or someone's junk treasures. Seems a waste of  beautiful view lots!

On the hillside you can see timber land. The open dirt area was probably just harvested, the middle area was cut down a couple years ago, replanted and looking to be growing well, the top section is a section of mature trees that will likely be harvested in the next few years. Oregon has big timber industry.

I had a commitment in Portland today, so am back home now. Hubby decided to stay at the beach a little longer, there are a lot of things he wants to do before company arrives  next weekend. Home ownership has a non-stop list of things that need to be done....multiply that times two! The beach environment is especially rough on properties and needs more maintenance than usual. We may be getting too old for all this work.

Thanks for your kind comments for the photos of the Nehalem River further up river yesterday.
