All in it together

A souvenir from my ten years spell as a college lecturer after a hasty retreat from Fleet Street in the 1980s because of fundamental disagreement with a certain Australian news magnate who came to London and dared to take over my  paper!

This jar of "Pickled People" - a gift from students in one of my multi-ethnic classes - is a happy reminder of my second career teaching IT, including word processing for ESOL. (English for Speakers of Other Languages.)

It was fun, as well as a real pleasure sharing and overcoming a variety of communication and cultural difficulties in groups drawn from a mixture of nationalities working in harmony together, and a valuable learning experience for me, too..
