Fruits of the Fatsia

Ripening fruit on a fine specimen of Fatsia japonica in one of Winchelsea's Secret Gardens that were open today (as they will be once again, on Saturday 18th June) under the National Gardens Scheme.

As you may have seen several times here, we once had a Fatsia too, in our garden in Aberdeenshire that we left at the end of March, but it never got around to producing any flowers - let alone any fruit - in the cooler (and less sunny) NE Scotland climate during the time we were there.
