Camellia House, Culzean Castle, Ayrshire

CJ's Birthday.  Twenty-one again!

After church, we drove down to Culzean, and enjoyed a tour of the Castle, and a long walk around the Estate.  The Camellias and Magnolias are outstanding at the moment.  Such a beautiful aroma within the Camellia House.  Built around 1815, as a Gothic Style orangery.

Delighted to learn that you are now allowed to take photographs within the Castle, as long as flash is switched off.  I have added a photo of the Castle, and one of a ceiling detail in the Oval Drawing Room.  A third, a gorgeous Camellia in full bloom.
