Horse near Spiddal, Co Galway

With J on a drive around the backroads a few miles from Spiddal. Weather was fast moving, changeable, intervals of brightness rolled out against slaty rainclouds, the twisty road coasting over the drumlins, plunging through deeply rich bracken-browns and lichened boulders, and then this, halted by the universe housed in a white horse, watching. Reminded of D.H. Lawrence's poem, THE WHITE HORSE:

The youth walks up to the white horse, to put its halter on
and the horse looks at him in silence.
They are so silent, they are in another world.

Horses can be like that.
